THE AIMS AND PURPOSES OF MAE

To form a common meeting ground for Engineers, Architects, Contractors and Material Suppliers, resident in or transacting business or professional work in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

To provide a medium for the interchange of technical and business information tending to the broadening of the knowledge of its members and increasing their worth to themselves and the community.

To mutually aid through proper cooperation, the betterment of the financial, professional and social status of its members.

To provide a just and fair code of ethical and business practices; to govern the dealings of the Engineers living in or transacting business in the State of Maryland, among themselves and to the Public; and to discourage improper practices.

To aid in the promulgation of proper laws and the proper administration.

To encourage and promote the development of industrial and civic betterment and improvements.

To improve the conditions surrounding or growing out of the practice of Engineering and to secure and obtain such advantages as may be of benefit to the Association and the Public. In general, to promote the comfort, convenience and well-being of its members.
